Ingrown pimple is one of the most common skin problems that is commonly red and feels sore in some days. It may be a simple skin problem but quite annoying. In some people, it can become a worse problem. For those who suffer this skin problem, you might need to learn about the causes, how to get rid and the prevention.

The most common cause of ingrown pimples is the growing hair on the back of skin, although some other causes may affect such as fungal, yeast or bacterial infections. The pus filled inside the pimples may make uncomfortable feeling. It commonly can go away by itself in some days because most cases can’t get rid with any treatment. Here are some home remedies that can be used to get rid of ingrown pimples:

1. Aspirin

The functions of aspirin are to reduce inflammation and redness of ingrown pimple. The swelling can be reduced by the aspirins anti-inflammatory property. Besides, it can also treat the infection as well as fight the inflammation. The offending hair inside the pimples can also be loosened after the dead skin cells are scrubbed away by the salicylic acid. The steps to use aspirin are:

  • Make a paste from two aspirin tablets and one teaspoons of warm water. Soak the tablets into the warm water and mix until the tablets melt and blended with the water forming paste.
  • Add honey as much as 1 teaspoon to the mixture and then mix well.
  • Apply the mixture to the pimple and leave it in about 10 minutes.
  • Wash off your face with warm water.
  • Pat dry your face skin. This remedy can be had one to two times per week.

Note: this home remedy is not recommended for highly sensitive skin.

2. Salt

Salt will be functional to exfoliate, improve the circulation, reduce the swelling and promote the healing of your skin. The steps to use salt are:

  • Take a cup of warm water and then mix with 1 ½ teaspoons of table salt.
  • Take a cotton ball and then dip it into the mixture, then rub the cotton ball over the pimples.
  • Leave the skin in some minutes, then rinse off with some water.
  • You can do this remedy twice a day until the ingrown hair pimple clear up.

Note: stop the remedy if your skin irritated or get red.

3. Black Tea Bags

It can also be treated with black tea bags. The tannic acid contained in black tea can reduce the inflammation and redness. It can also soothe your skin. The steps are:

  • Soak the black tea bag into some warm water to moisten it.
  • Rub the affected area by using the tea bag in about three minutes. You can do this treatment in several times every day.
  • Besides, you can also use the black tea from the bag by mixing it with coconut water as much as one teaspoon.
  • Use a cotton ball to take the mixture and press it softly on the pimples. You can use this remedy two times every day.

4. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is known as an ingredient that is also effective as home remedy to treat this pimple. It will reduce the inflammation and itchiness with the cooling and soothing nature. Aloe Vera also will become moisturizer for your skin and make faster the healing process. The steps to use Aloe Vera are:

  • Take some Aloe Vera gel extract from the inside of the leaf.
  • Scrub the irritated skin by using the Aloe Vera gel and then let it dry naturally in about 30 minutes.
  • Rinse your face by using lukewarm water. You can do this treatment 2-3 times daily for some days.

5. Honey

The antibacterial properties in honey can help preventing infections. Honey will also become your natural skin moisturizer, reduce swelling and also inflammation. The steps to use honey to treat pimple are:

  • Apply the honey to the irritated skin in one layer.
  • Let it dry naturally in 10 minutes.
  • Rinse off by using cold water.
  • You can use this home remedy 3-4 times per day until it is improved.

Prevention

Firstly, you have to understand that your ingrown pimples can be spread anywhere, including your face, your back, your chin, etc. However, there are some sensitive area that risk of pimple can occur, they are: nose, neck, chin, face, forehead and cheek. The special treatment is needed to prevent it. There is some prevention action that you can do.

  • Shave regularly after shower. The softer hair after shower will hold off the shaving process well. Otherwise, you can make the face hair softer by rinsing your face with warm water or treat your face with a hot towel in about 5 minutes.
  • Use some shaving cream. It also will work to soften your face hairs while reducing the forming of pimples.
  • Leave the shaving cream in a few minutes before begin shaving.
  • Pressure lightly when you shave and don’t pull your face skin strained.
  • Shave by following the hair growth direction.
  • Use sharp razor and a few strokes.
  • Use an electric razor on wet skin with not too close setting.
  • Remove the face hair by using chemical hair remover. But some sensitive skin can also get irritation for the chemical hair remover so you need to test a little cream first in a small hidden skin before you apply over large area of your skin.

Ingrown pimples can be treated by regularly clean your skin with gentle cleansing products and non-comedogenic oils. You can also use some medical treatments to make it better. But you should consult your doctor first to get the prescription. The ingrown hair pimples may not be waxed, tweezed or shaved because it may cause more terrible irritations. In order to get ingrown hairs that make growing pimples, you should do some steps of prevention like regular shaving, make the face hair softer before shaving, and use the right sharp razor to remove hairs perfectly.
